If you’re looking for a way to really kick your motivation into gear and start the new year feeling refreshed, then Champagne Margaritas are the answer! Whether you’re ringing in the new year solo or with friends, Champagne Margaritas make an excellent toast to a fresh start in the New Year.
- 1/2 c. fresh lime juice
- 1 c. silver tequila
- 1/2 c. orange liquer
- 1 bottle champagne (about 3 cups)
- lime wedges, for rim
- salt, for rim
- Step 1- Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir well.
- Step 2- Run lime wedges around the rim of each champagne flute and dip the rims in coarse salt.
- Step 3- Divide margaritas between flutes and garnish with lime wedges.
What tequila should I use for these margaritas?
We suggest a silver tequila in this recipe.. Any blanco or silver tequila will work perfectly in this recipe, but we recommend staying away from any gold tequilas.
What kind of rim should I make?
We love a salt rim with our margs, but if sugar is more your thing—go for it! Simply swap out the course salt for granulated sugar. Or, do both, so everyone has an option for a sweet or salty rim.
Can I make this in advance?
Yes!! This is a great make-ahead drink for a crowd. If you want to make this in advance, combine all of your ingredients (without the champagne) into a pitcher and refrigerate. When you're ready to serve, divide your margarita mixture into your glasses, then top with champagne.
After a few sips of these colorful cocktails with lime and Grand Marnier added for extra sweetness and tartness, you’ll be ready to take on the world with renewed enthusiasm. Just remember that Champagne Margaritas are meant for savoring, not downing quickly like shots—allowing time for sharing stories from the past year and setting intentions for the next is part of what makes New Year’s celebrations so special. Here’s to making 2021 your most inspired year yet!
Festive cocktails can be served all year around but are especially ideal for big celebrations
