You don’t need to fill your fall wardrobe with all of these new trends, but it is always fun to buy a few bold statement pieces in your personal style for the upcoming season. We have the top thirteen trends you will want to wear this season featured below. Some of the links below are from affiliate links (100% safe to make your shopping easy).

Fall Fashion Guide 2022

The 2022 fall fashion trends have one common theme is that the fashion trends are all nostalgic, everything always makes a comeback. Think hot pinks, oversized blazers, and cargo pants. Remember the slouchy oversized blazer? It’s back in a big way. You will also be seeing oversized winter coats and other statement pieces you can’t forget.

These trends are ideal for any age most specifically for women ages 40+.

Flight Jackets

Bomber jackets are taking off this Fall—a calling to wingman Maverick from Top Gun. The fall runways thought so too. A shearling bomber jacket was super popular on the catwalk at Coach. Celine welcomed a cool collegiate version, and Versace naturally put their spin on the outerwear piece.

The flight jacket, reporting for duty. Triple duty, in fact, as this is an outerwear hero you can wear from a coffee date to weekend lunch to evening gala. It’s had a diverse luxe updates for autumn – see Prada, Elie Saab, and LaQuan Smith for an embellished flight jackets.

Edgy Biker Chic- Leather

This season you will be slipping into more leather than you thought.  Why? Because it’s edgier and more excessive than usual. Fun moto jackets and pants to outerwear, leather and pleather has a sexy and edgy.

Leather and pleather is the rage for Fall-Winter 2022. From moto jackets, to pants to outerwear to even tank tops, all clothing has the opportunity to take on a sexier edge by opting for it in leather—both real and faux. Leather from head to toe is hot. The younger generations can totally rock a leather mini skirt, not me.

Clogs

Whether you like it or not, clogs are here, and they’re chunkier and more out-there than ever. You’ve probably already gotten a glimpse of TikTokers wearing the classic Birkenstock varieties that we may remember from middle school. Think platform soles, bright colors, and even some sherpa here and there.

 White Tank Tops

Also, in an ode to early aughts fashion, the white tank is a fall ’22 trend you probably already have in your closet. On fall 2022 runways, designers like Prada, Chloe, and Bottega Veneta all featured white tanks shining all on their own. Style yours with leather pants, your favorite baggy jeans, or a maxi skirt to take advantage of it as the ultimate transitional piece.

 Waist Tight

Various designers built corseted waists into their silhouettes for fall, while Dior and Balmain extended it one step further and gave corset panels a modern edge, sculpting them in metal.

The corset belt trend isn’t anything new, but it often makes a comeback every few seasons. This waist-cinching accessory works well with a variety of outfits, and this season we’re seeing it coupled with knits, crops, and separates.

Ranch Style- Cowgirl hats & Fringe

This versatile accessory looks great when color blocking or accentuating a simple outfit on a day with your friends. Worn with a suit of a similar shade, it can add some extra complexity to an outfit without feeling too overdone. Felt cowboy hats have become a mainstay for lovers of Gucci’s aesthetic.

Wear it with a mix of tailored shirts, leather jackets, maxi skirts and oversized blazers. The slightly masculine edge will create a fantastic and photo-worthy outfit that will look great on your Instagram grid.

Leather fringe on boots, bags and jackets is also a hot look this fall. A little bit of a cowgirl kick-ass sexy vibe for sure.

Big Oversized Coats & Jackets

Big, fluffy cozy coats this fall will be a “hot” trend. I don’t know about you but fluffy coats always seem to be in fashion during the colder winter months when you want to curl up and get cozy. You will see lots of oversized coats and slouchy jackets/blazers as well. Puffer coats are still the rage.

Fur

Fluff-coated accessories were splattered throughout the fall 2022 collections, from fuzzy footwear at Loewe and Bottega Veneta, to plush hats at Versace and Gucci, and bags featuring soft textures at Fendi and Off-White.

Green With Envy

From Instagram to the streets of Fashion Week, green is the color of choice this season. Taken over collections at Bottega Veneta, Ganni. Rather than being reserved solely for Y2K-esque tributes (see: Versace), the green with envy has made its way into fancy glamorous dresses (Valentino, Erdem, Christian Siriano) and elevated summer-y looks (Stella McCartney, Valentino, Prabal Gurung).

Any type of color of green, including lime and emerald, has taken over collections at Bottega Veneta, Ganni, and many others. Since it has become the preeminent shade of the year. Style it with assorted tones of the same palette, or you can go head to toe with any shade of green.

If you want to give green a try. Perhaps consider casual T-shirt or a blazer.

Oversize Button-Ups

A big, boxy button-up never really goes out of style. An enduring fashion staple, these shirts exude casual elegance. Kendall Jenner, a devoted fan of this look, paired a blue striped version with yellow shorts and classic Adidas Sambas for a look worthy of emulating.

Metallic Bags

A metallic bag is big this season. This is good news because metallics come in versatile shades that’ll take you from day to night without the usual hesitations you might have when carrying your shopping or work bag to the happy hour. In addition, metallics of today don’t have to be the shiny space driven like the ones from the past.

In fact, there are plenty of low-key and versatile options, starting from bronze, copper, and pewter to the more vibrant reds, hot pinks, or turquoises. The most popular metallic shades are gold and silver. These shades have many variations to choose from and will take you from a suit to a cocktail dress.

Designers love to add metallic bags to their collections because it adds a pop of excitement to anything you wear. When you wear a gold metallic shade, go with warmer tones. Silver pairs well with cooler hues but also looks great with bright pink and red.
