The Clean & Effective Beauty Vetted List- Shop Here

I’ll be honest, my beliefs and my shopping habits have changed. I no longer shop without paying close attention to the brands and ingredients in products.  I am even getting better at reading labels. This was not my shopping habit two years ago.

My beauty product research almost put me in a complete  panic because I discovered so many of my favorite products were not safe to use. This is why I am sharing my research with you. It takes time to dig in deep and find the truth behind beauty products.

With that in mind, we have found, and vetted the best clean skin care brands out there, so you don’t have to spend hours on end Googling toxins in beauty yourself. We have listed clean sunscreen, lipstick, foundation, eye make-up and hair products.

The good news is that when used properly, these natural beauty alternatives are some of the best wrinkle fighters and collagen boosters on the market. For younger, clearer, smoother skin, these are the clean skin care brands.

The Issue With The FDA- No Authority To Require Cosmetic Manufactures To Submit Safety Data On Products

Under U.S. law, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) does not have the authority to require cosmetic manufacturers to submit safety data on their products. Instead, the burden is on FDA to prove that a particular product or chemical ingredient is harmful when used as intended.

More and more people are becoming aware of the ecological impact that cosmetics have. A lot of chemicals we put on ourselves are absorbed into our skin and are therefore as important as those we put in our body. Our studies show that we often can find those ingredients in human blood and that they even pollute pre-born babies.

Clean Make-up Products Have Come A Long Way

Clean makeup has come a long way in the last five years. Where it was once hard—if not impossible—to find natural products that actually work. Ladies make-up with vivid colors, a wide range of skin tone options, and long-lasting staying power, are showing up everywhere. Cosmetic shelves are bursting with innovative brands have left conventional beauty companies scrambling to create more natural alternatives.

Several manufacturers of personal care products have voluntarily removed certain chemicals from their products. For example, Avon, Revlon, L’Oreal, and Estee Lauder prohibit the use of phthalates in their products. Revlon has also removed BHA.  Johnson & Johnson has gone even further, in a series of reforms that have resulted in the removal of 1,4-dioxane, formaldehyde, many parabens, triclosan, and certain fragrance chemicals.4. This is a great start but we still have a long way to go in the United States.

What I have learned recently is that clean beauty products can improve your skin not just make your skin look better. This is because clean products provide nutrients to your skin. Nutrient-dense ingredients that support and nourish the skin’s bacteria for effective results.
