Her writing began with the self-publication of “Tripped Up Love” in 2013, which marked the inception of a remarkable literary voyage. III. Unveiling Love Songs and Ferry Tales

When reading the story, I was immediately transported to a small island in the Pacific Northwest where the Sherman Family lives. The story is easy to relate to as , Julie navigates themes of love, family dynamics, and the intricacies of small-town existence.

Drawing inspiration from her own life and cultural phenomena like “Gilmore Girls” and “Bridgerton,” Julie infuses her narrative with a unique blend of authenticity and whimsy. Opting instead to establish her own imprint, Fog House Press, Julie prioritized maintaining creative control over the series.

Working closely with local designer Jen Colburn, known for her iconic “missed the ferry” mugs, Julie ensured that the series’ artwork captures the essence of island life. Reviews:

Julie Farley’s Love Songs and Ferry Tales was a great feel-good RomCom. I instantly fell in love with Jac’s tenacity and Johnny’s curiosity.

The banter between the two is electric and hilarious. Farley’s depiction of Greensea makes the reader want to visit immediately! What’s not to love about the quintessential small-town and even more so with the ever-prying commentary from the mysterious Greensea Gazette.

Not only does Farley do an excellent job creating settings and characters that the reader can fall in love with, she creates the perfect character that the reader can truly root against. (Nick is absolutely cringeworthy in all the right ways)

Overall, this was an excellent read, that was near impossible to put down.

Love Songs and Ferry Tales by Julie Farley is simply a feel good book that made me giggle and warmed my heart at the same time. The characters and island she creates are so true on many levels of small town life. Enjoyed the back and forth chapters in the voices of the main characters (Jac and Johnny).

The interludes of the gazette (local newspaper, penned by “GG”) spattered throughout are fun and amusing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
